Work Description:
This artwork digitally recreates the 'Realm of the Spirits - Manjusri's Transformation,' based on the mural painting found on the north side of the west wall of Yulin Cave in Dunhuang.Utilizing virtual simulation technology and traditional art digitization, it manifests in three-di-mensional form within the digital realm. Through digital activation methods, it combines Dunhuang murals, cliff carvings, and suspended sculpture art to digitize figures, ritual implements,landscapes, and decorative patterns into three-dimensional renditions. Traditional architectural spatial forms are integrated to reconstruct scenes in three dimensions, enabling touring and interaction within virtual reality.

Work Description:
Traditional cliff carvings in China served as conduits for ancient spiritual communication,but are now fading as the digital age progresses. The design's primary objective is to deepen users' understanding of traditional cliff carvings' cultural and artistic significance while fostering new connections with traditional art. Through virtual simulation, we digitally recreate these carvings, considering their imagery, symbolism, and materials, mirroring traditional Chinese artworks. Within the virtual space, we construct a narrative focused on restoring Bodhisattva carvings and understanding their traditional artistic meanings,analyzing corresponding scriptures and designing informational interfaces. With three scene levels and integrated gamified interactions, users are immersed in the virtual story,providing a rich cultural journey and a deeper appreciation of traditional Chinese aesthetics and culture in the digital realm.

Work Description:
This artwork reimagines the 257th cave's "Legend of the Deer King" mural from the Mogao Caves in Dunhuang through virtual simulation, balancing both the roaming experience of VR space and the stylistic essence of Dunhuang murals. It blends forms of shadow play and paper cutting, deconstructing the mural's elements to create separate models, with some essential components represented in three-dimensional models,establishing a virtual simulation space primarily composed of 2D models supplemented by 3D ones. By exploring the connections between virtual reality interactive mechanisms and Dunhuang narrative paintings, it designs interactive mechanisms for the Nine-Colored Deer VR experience to guide interactive exhibitions within virtual reality spaces. It analyzes the symbolic language and compositional structure of the narrative and designs narrative concepts within VR space accordingly, focusing on how visual language conveys information and guides communication. The project explores the relationship between narrative logic, interactive mechanisms, and virtual reality technology, providing insights into the design of interactive mechanisms in similar contexts. Additionally, it offers a new digital recording format for the conservation of Dunhuang narrative paintings, presenting a fresh direction and approach to digitalizing research on these paintings.
